Urs Amann

Urs Amann is a surrealist Swiss painter. He is mostly known as the author of Klaus Schulze records' cover art, in a style that reminds of some works from Salvador Dali. He also illustrated the covers of many books, including some of his brother[1] Jürg Amann, who is a Swiss writer. Urs Amann likes to qualify his work as « meta-realistic painting ».

Biography

Urs Amman was born 1951 in Winterthur. During 1971, in Berlin, he produces his first oil paintings. In 1972, he follows the cursus of Form+Farbe school in Zurich. Since 1974, he is an independent artist and since 1980, he is a member of the Winterthur artists group.[2]
